We're a train departure app. Our job is to tell you when the 07:14 to London Bridge is delayed. We don't want your browsing history, we don't track your location in the background, and we don't sell your commute to advertisers.
Here's exactly what we collect, and why.
1. Data we collect
- Saved routes (local): if you use the app without an account, your Home station and My Commute settings stay on your device. We never see them.
- Account data (optional): if you turn on cloud sync, you sign in with Google or Apple. We store your saved routes against an anonymised user ID so you can restore them on a new phone.
- Crash reports: if the app crashes, we get an anonymous log that tells us which line of code broke, not who you are.
2. Location data
When you tap Stations near you, we ask your phone for your location once, use it to find nearby stations, then discard it.
Platform 1 never tracks your location in the background.
3. Third-party services
A few services make the app work:
- National Rail Enquiries (Darwin): live train times.
- Transport for London (TfL Open Data): live Tube, DLR, Overground, Elizabeth line and tram times.
- RevenueCat: manages Platform 1 Pro subscriptions and receipt validation, so we never hold payment details.
- Google AdMob (Free tier only): shows banner ads to cover server costs, using standard mobile identifiers. If you upgrade to Pro, AdMob is switched off completely.
4. Your rights
If you made a cloud sync account and want it gone, tap Delete account in the app's Settings. It permanently removes your saved data from our servers straight away.
